Myron Mixon’s plate is full, and not just with barbecue.
Although he is perhaps best known to the American public from the Destination America reality television show “BBQ Pitmasters,” Mixon is also the author of three books, chief cook of the Jack’s Old South competition barbecue team and mayor of his hometown, Unadilla, Georgia, about 30 miles south of Macon.

Wine-focused country club taking shape

As the chief executive officer of a wine-centric California ad agency, Russ Gardiner had opportunities to experience firsthand how wine is made. In that former life, Gardiner walked through vineyards, participated in harvests, met winemakers and spent time in cold, dimly lit wine cellars. Now, he wants to bring those experiences to regional wine lovers.

If you find the idea of drinking rosé wine unappealing, it might be time to change the way you think about rosé. Just because a wine is pink or salmon colored doesn’t mean it has to be cloyingly sweet, unsophisticated and one-dimensional. A recent tasting of three wines from Chateau Sainte Roseline proved that a well-made rosé is a wine worthy of consideration.
